A woman was reportedly struck with a bottle in Weymouth
The woman was taken to hospital with a cut to her neck from a broken bottle following the incident on King Street.
It was reported that the woman had been assaulted by another woman who was known to her.
She received treatment for the injury which is not believed to be serious.
Blood can still be seen on the pavement and nearby residents have described seeing police in the area last night.
Enquiries remain ongoing.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 10.21pm on Sunday, June 2 that a woman had been found with a laceration to her neck in the area of King Street in Weymouth.
"It was reported that the woman had been assaulted by another woman who was known to her and had been struck with a bottle.
"The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to her injury, which was not believed to be serious. Enquiries into the matter are ongoing."
