This weekend is looking like it is going to be a scorcher.

Only some slight cloud on Saturday will mar the otherwise sunny 20-degree weather forecast for this weekend.

We have put together a list of fun activities going on across the weekend for you to enjoy.

Wessex Folk Festival in Weymouth

This folk festival is returning to the Weymouth harbourside today and tomorrow.

This unique festival is free to attend and over the weekend, the south harbourside will be transformed into a bustling marketplace of street traders, Morris dancers and children’s entertainers with two stages providing the setting for both professional folk musicians and amateur musicians.

Local pubs will also hold thriving music sessions and workshops in local venues.

This year’s line-up includes renowned west country singer-songwriter Steve Knightley, BBC Radio 2 Folk Award-winning singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Sam Kelly as part of the Sam Kelly Trio, Urban Folk Quartet, transatlantic folk band The Magpies, and many more.

Three of Dorset’s finest shanty groups will be appearing alongside the Wareham Whalers presenting some of ‘The Shout’ which is their paean to the RNLI in their 200-year celebration year, with a possible guest appearance from the Weymouth Lifeboat.

Stalls open for business at 10am on Saturday morning, with music on stage starting at 11am-5.30pm.

Nothe Fort Pirate Week

This pirate-themed activity week started last Saturday and is set to continue through this weekend.

Open daily between 10.30am until 4.00pm and visitors can expect heaps of pirate fun and treasure to find.

It will include a pirate ship for visitors to board, a walk the plank experience, panning for gold, and a host of pirate games and crafts for people to enjoy.

Sturminster's Big Weekend

This event started Friday, but still has two more days left to go.

There will be the Annual Real Ale and Cider Festival at The Exchange from 12pm both days.

On Saturday from 10am to 4pm there will be a gardening fair at the Railway Gardens and a producer's market on Station Road. There will also be an indoor market at The Exchange from 10am to 1pm, and a Car and Bike Enthusiast Meeting in Ricketts Lane Recreational Ground from 9am.

On Sunday there will be a 'big lunch' at The Railway Gardens from noon to 3pm and a car boot sale on Ricketts Lane Recreational Ground from 9am.

Westmacott Road Street Fair

Westmacott Road off Dorchester Road, Weymouth will host a street fair from 1pm until 5pm on Saturday.

Included in the fair will be a BBQ, craft stalls, bric-a-brac, sweets & cakes, games and a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses.

Residents will put on the stalls with members of the public welcome to attend and take part.
