A man has been arrested on suspicion of breaching bail conditions relating to his alleged behaviour involving young children.
Police were alerted to a suspicious man around the Alexandra Gardens on the Weymouth Esplanade.
A man was located by police as he was attempting to leave the area. He was detained and arrested for allegedly breaching court-imposed bail conditions - relating to his behaviour involving young children.
A spokesperson for Weymouth and Portland Police said: "Neighbourhood Policing Officers from the town centre team were alerted to the presence and behaviour of a suspicious male in the area of Alexandra Gardens on Weymouth Esplanade.
"An officer attended and located the individual in the area of Custom House Quay, having attempted to leave the area.
"The male was subsequently detained and arrested for breaching existing court bail conditions that were in place relating to his behaviour involving young children, he was taken to Weymouth Custody and put before the courts first thing the following morning."
