Paramedics were treating a person along the esplanade yesterday morning when passing officers stepped in to assist.
No further police action was required and while the officers involved were armed officers, they were not acting in an armed capacity.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 10.27am on Wednesday, May 29 that the ambulance service was treating a patient on The Esplanade in Weymouth.
“Passing officers stopped to assist but no further police action was required.”
