Children's school shoes are needed for young Afghans who are being temporarily housed at an army camp in Chickerell.

Chickerell Town Council is appealing for people to donate shoes for both boys and girls, all sizes.

A requirement for donated bicycles and scooters also continues.

Those living at Chickerell Camp are Afghan nationals who worked with or for the British Armed Forces and other Government departments throughout operations in Afghanistan.

This resettlement is part of the MoD’s ARAP Scheme – Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy.

A previous appeal was made for donations as Afghan nationals arrived at the camp with very few possessions and were in desperate need of clothing and items for children.
