A man is set to appear in court charged with shoplifting.
Neighbourhood officers from Weymouth and Portland Police were called to reports of shoplifting in Weymouth town centre.
A man was subsequently searched, and goods were recovered – he will now be summonsed to court.
Later in the evening as patrols continued, four people were issued section 35 dispersal notices from the town centre after causing anti-social behaviour.
A spokesperson for Weymouth and Portland Police said: “Neighbourhood officers have been on patrol this bank holiday Weekend.
“Tonight we have attended reports of a shoplifting that had just occurred within the town centre, a male was searched and goods recovered. He will be summonsed to court.
“Our visible hot spot patrols continued throughout the shift and four individuals were issued section 35 dispersal notices from the town centre after causing anti-social behaviour.”
