Dorset Police has taken part in a multi agency operation stopping and checking vehicles.
Yesterday the Rural Crime Team, Road Policing Team, Dorset Council and the Environment Agency took part in the operation across Dorset.
During the operation one arrest was made for drug driving, five fixed penalty notices were issued for driving offences, two people were reported for having an excess load - including 3.5 tonne truck 68 per cent overweight.
There were also three stop searches carried out, one ticket issued for no MOT, eight waste carrier licences were checked, two tickets issued for using mobile phones whilst driving.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police Rural Crime Team said : "Multi agency stop checks taking place with Rural Crime Team, Road Policing Team, Dorset Council and the Environment Agency.
"We had the following results: one arrest for drug driving; five fixed penalty notice for driving offences; two persons reported for excess load; three stop searches; one ticket for no MOT; eight waste carrier licences checked; two tickets issued for using mobile phones whilst driving.
"More importantly 18 members of public stopped and the result was all in order, thank you.
"Big thanks to Dorset Council Waste Services and Environment Agency - Wessex for joining us."
