A FAMILY of swans have created a long line of traffic on the A31 near Wimborne Minster just weeks after a swan caused a crash and car fire in Poole.
A family of swans was seen holding up traffic on the A31 near Wimborne Minster on May 24 at around 10am.
Close to Lake Gates roundabout, Dorset Police were reported to the scene and said they have notified a wildlife rescue partner.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "Dorset Police received a report at 10.06am on Friday 24 May 2024 of two swans and eight signets in the road on the A31 near Lake Gates roundabout in Wimborne.
"Officers are in attendance and have notified a wildlife rescue partner agency."
The incident comes weeks after emergency services were called to a car fire on Dorset Way after a swan was found in the middle of the road on May 24.
Despite removed from the road by Police half an hour before, the swan was left unattended on the roadside and eventually wandered back onto the dual carriageway.
It is unknown if the swans have been safely removed and if so, which wildlife rescue agency was called to assist.
