As the weather warms up and people travel down to the beach there is nothing better than grabbing an ice cream to help cool down.
Well Weymouth has plenty of options if you are looking for a nice refreshing scoop of milky ice cream.
However, which is the best?
Well, we have compiled the top three ice cream parlours in the town according to Google reviews.
Rossi’s Ices - 92 Esplanade, Weymouth
The Figliolini family have been running Rossi’s since 1937.
They use traditional methods making small batches of ice cream by hand and with love.
The flavours can vary as everything is made fresh daily. There are about 20 flavours they make in total but not usually more than two or three at a time – so if you come back the next day there is likely to be a new flavour to try.
One person reviewing Rossi’s said: “The best ice cream in the world. No debate, the team are brilliant, and the ice cream speaks for itself – you have to try this if you are visiting.”
Whilst another added: “Fantastic ice cream, and they make it fresh in the store.
“It was an absolute pleasure to come and try Rossi’s Ices. The staff were all so friendly and accommodating and even gave my puppy a free scoop of ice cream, which helped settle her down.”
Baboo Gelato - Opposite Gloucester Lodge on Weymouth Beach
These Dorset-based gelato style ice cream makers were set up in 2015 by Annie Hanbury.
The Bridport-based producers pride themselves on using the best ingredients the west country has to offer.
Fresh is best at this ice cream parlour and it comes through in their smooth gelato.
One reviewer said: “One of the best gelato ice creams we’ve enjoyed outside of Italy. Delicious. Their water cones are too good.”
Another reviewer was pleased with the vegan options on offer as well: “A more vegan friendly beach café with an incredible vegan chocolate ice cream, other flavours too and plant-based milk subs. Lovely and thank you.”
Hedley’s of Weymouth - 112 Esplanade, Weymouth
A visit to the ‘friendliest gift shop in Weymouth’ means you can pick up some nice gifts, beach toys, boats, and rock along with a scoop or two of ice cream.
One person said: “Delicious ice cream. Great service and a fun atmosphere from the brilliant Alan. Lovely views over the sea if you choose to sit outside. Vegan options available – personal favourites are the salted caramel, mint chocolate, and lime sorbet.”
A second review praised the award-winning ice cream on offer. “If you want to try Italian ice cream that has won awards in Italy, then look no further. Double coffee for me and it packs a punch in its waffle cone. Just amazing”
