A person has been injured after a car left the carriageway and went onto the verge.
Compton Road is reported to be partially blocked due to an accident on Compton Road close to Babylon Hill near Sherborne.
The road is currently blocked.
Emergency services are in attendance.
Police say that minor injuries were reported.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "At 2.59pm on Wednesday, May 22, we received a report of a single-vehicle road traffic collision in Compton Road close to Babylon Hill near Sherborne.
"Officers are attending with the ambulance and fire services. The road is currently blocked. Minor injuries have currently been reported."
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said: "We were called to Yeovil Road, Over Compton at 3.06pm today, where a car had left the carriageway and was on the verge. Two crews attended, from Sherborne and Yeovil, and firefighters made the scene safe."
