The events and activities for the second day of an annual steam show in North Dorset that attracts thousands of spectators was cancelled due to conditions at the ground following heavy rain.
The second day of the Three Okefords Steam and Vintage Rally was cancelled due to muddy conditions at the venue off Blandford Road, near Shillingstone.
While events went ahead on Saturday, the organisers of the event confirmed the cancellation of Sunday’s show.
A statement read: “It is with great regret that we have had to cancel (Sunday's) show.
“Unfortunately due to the ground conditions, we have had to make a tough decision to cancel the show as the mud is too much of a risk for public safety.
“It is a tough decision as we like to raise as much money as possible for our charities but the mud is too much of a risk.
“We like to thank all our visitors and exhibitors for your patience and we hope to see you at future fundraising events and our 2025 show with hopefully a dry field. Thanks all again.”
The event was first held in Shillingstone in 1989, and has an array of activities for the whole family, with agricultural machines, tractor pulling, classic car displays, steam engines, military vehicles, stationary engines and a fun fair. The site also offered camping for members of the public as well as exhibitor camping.
