A cruise ship carrying over 3,000 passengers has docked in Portland Port completing its journey.
The Caribbean Princess arrived at Portland today, Friday, May 17, at around 6.13am with 3,114 passengers on board, after travelling from Falmouth overnight.
The cruise ship, which can carry over 3,600 passengers, was built in 2004 and christened by Jill Whelan.
It used to be the largest carrying capacity in the Princess fleet until June 2013 when another Princess ship, the new Royal Princess, superseded its record.
The Caribbean Princess measures 289m in length and 48m across her beam. It also comprises eighteen decks, 900 balcony staterooms and an entire deck of mini-suites.
Her tonnage is 112894 gt and she has a maximum speed of 21 knots.
