Traffic is moving slowly into Weymouth as many head to the beach.

There are delays along the A354 Weymouth Relief Road heading from Dorchester to Weymouth.

One motorist said: “I was driving from Weymouth to Dorchester and the traffic on the other side of the road was trailing all the way from the roundabout to at least half way up the road – I will be definitely heading back a different way.”

According to the Met Office, temperatures are expected to reach highs of 21 degrees and lows of 13 degrees today, with a yellow warning of thunderstorms issued for tomorrow (Sunday).

As reported by the Echo Daren Deadman, owner of The Boat Café on The Esplanade, is expecting a ‘very busy weekend.’

He said: "I think it is going to be very busy. I think people these days use apps to check the weather, they are going to see that it is sunny and head to the beach.”
