A new car park that was scheduled to be completed at the end of April will not be open for the bank holiday weekend.
The former Weymouth and Portland Borough Council offices at North Quay was demolished between December and February and work to install a temporary car park on the site has been underway.

However, despite Dorset Council saying the work remained 'on schedule' for the car park to open at the end of April, it has now been revealed that more work is needed before the car park will open.
This means it will not be open for the bank holiday weekend.

A spokesperson for Dorset Council said: "The North Quay car park won’t be open this weekend.
"We checked the site earlier this week and there is a little more work to be done before the public can start using the car park safely.
"When we have a confirmed opening date, we will let everyone know."
