DRUGS and offensive weapons were seized from a property in Bridport following a police raid.

Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) and the Force Support Group (FSG) carried out a warrant under section eight of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) at an address in St Michael’s Lane.

The raid took place at around 9am on Thursday, May 2.

During the warrant, officers located and seized quantities of suspected class A and class B drugs, as well as offensive weapons.

A 28-year-old man from Bridport was arrested at the scene and subsequently de-arrested while further investigative work is carried out.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Mike Brown, of Bridport police, said: “There is no place in Dorset for suspected drugs and we will relentlessly pursue those who are suspected of dealing drugs in our communities.

“We know of the harmful impact drug-related activity has and we will continue to proactively execute warrants to identify those we believe to be involved.

“We are determined to make our county a hostile place for suspected criminals and their operations, and a safe place for our residents and visitors.
