DORSET’S hopes of getting off to a flier in the NCCA T20 competition were scuppered by rain and hail at Wimborne.
With the elements forcing the cancellation of the first match against Wiltshire, the conditions finally improved as the neighbours locked horns at The Leaze.
Wiltshire skipper Ed Young’s decision to bat first after winning the toss spectacularly backfired as his side were skittled for just 72.
Dorset’s bowlers were all in excellent form as only three Wiltshire batters made it into double figures, Warwickshire all-rounder Jake Lintott top-scoring with 18 from 27 balls.
Jake Goodwin (13) hit two of only five boundaries scored in the entire innings, before Nathan Feltham offered brief resistance with two sixes in his 17 from 15 deliveries.

David Scott and Connor Smith both took a magnificent 3-13 from their allotted four overs, Jacob Gordon claimed 2-20 and debutant Matt Burton returned 1-10 against his former side.
However, a cloudburst during the interval gave the respective captains little option other than to shake hands without Dorset facing a ball in reply.
