A community has come together to share memories, and celebrate the life, of a local man.
More than 40 residents of Maiden Newton and neighbouring communities gathered at the village coffee shop to share memories of local man and keen plant grower Steve Chapman.
During the event, a donation of £1,650 was presented to Weldmar Hospicecare. The donation was made in Mr Chapman's memory with money raised through plant sales to the community.
Following a further donation from Friends of Maiden Newton railway station, and contributions on the day, everyone was delighted that the final sum raised exceeded £1,900.
Weldmar Hospicecare offers end-of-life care in Dorset. It has an inpatient unit in Dorchester and offers home-based support throughout the west, south, and north of Dorset.
