SAFETY patrol staff leapt into action to help a woman in need of medical attention.
It is understood the woman had been a spectator at this morning's Anzac memorial service on Weymouth seafront when she collapsed.
Town council community safety patrol officers rushed to the woman's aid as calls for a 'medic' could be heard as the service came to an end.
Within 10 minutes an ambulance was on the scene and paramedics started to treat the woman who was laying on her side on the beach next to the promenade.
A member of the public who attended the service said: "As the service finished, I turned around and could hear people calling for a medic.
"Security officers rushed to the help what looked like a woman lying on the beach.
"I didn't see much but about four or five security people came to the woman's aid - I don't know what had happened but I do hope she is alright.
"The ambulance service got here really quick it was about 10 minutes or so."
The woman's condition is not known.
A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 11.25am on Thursday, April 25 to an incident in Weymouth.
"We sent one double-crewed land ambulance to the scene and conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Dorset County Hospital."
