A STRETCH of a rural road in Dorset will be temporarily closed to enable maintenance and resurfacing works to be carried out.
Part of the B3146 near Glanvilles Wootton and to the north of Buckland Newton will be shut from Friday, April 26 for the work to be done.
It will be closed in both directions from the junction with Kennels Lane to the junction with B3143 Factory Lane.
This is a distance of approximately 2,120 metres.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed by May 3,2024.
The temporary closure order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
The closures will be in operation, as and when indicated by signs on site.
Advanced warning signs were placed on the road two weeks in advance of the closure.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
