A picturesque Dorset village is getting ready to welcome runners and spectators for its 39th annual 10k race.
Tarrant Monkton, near Blandford Forum, will be host to the Tarrant Valley 10, also known as the TV10, on Sunday, June 2, at 10.30am.
There will be plenty for everyone to do - runners, spectators and supporters alike. In addition to the races, there will be a BBQ, ice-creams, teas, coffees and a raffle.
The race, which has been in the village held since 1985, will begin and end at The Langton Arms Pub.
The race features multiple terrains, including tarmac and farm track sections. Approximately half of the race is in shade.
Rogue Racer will be chip timing the adult’s 10km race through the Cranborne Chase countryside, as well as the Children’s 1-mile run. Online printable certificates will be available to download for all runners, and there will be lots of photos.
A spokesperson for the event said: "We are so fortunate to be supported by our fabulous village pub, the Langton Arms. It is owned by local farmers James and Barbara Cossins.
"As a dog-friendly run, we are delighted to be supporting Guide Dogs for the Blind this year as one of our chosen charities for this not-for-profit event. They will be turning up in force so it will be a great chance to find out more about this wonderful charity and the work they do.
"We will be giving out many prizes and are delighted that a Guide Dogs representative will be presenting them."
There is a team cup and prizes for the top men, women, veterans and under 20s.
The event is open to runners of all standards and is a non-profit with all proceeds going to local charities: Guide Dogs for the Blind, Weldmar Hospicecare and All Saints Church, Tarrant Monkton.
Last year Teddy20, a children's cancer charity in Blandford, and The Salisbury Hospice received support from the run.
There is an entry fee of £16 for UK Athletics-affiliated runners, £18 for non-affiliates, and it is £2 extra to enter on the day for those over the age of 15.
