Upton House Food and Music Festival
A tasty starter to get foodies and live music fans in the mood for Glastonbury, Upton House Food and Music Festival, taking place June 14th – 16th, in Poole, is a sure fire feast for all the senses – a family day out in beautiful surroundings with food and drink from around the world.
Alongside a mouth-watering array of international street food created by some of the region’s finest local producers, there’s a tasty bill of top UK tributes, with free kids' entertainment, arts, crafts and, for the brave and hungry, some brilliant eating contests!
“Upton House Food and Music Festival is all about serving up a more-ish mix of top notch food and brilliant music at an affordable price – we can’t wait to see what the people of Poole and beyond makes of this year’s line up; it’s the strongest yet,” says festival organiser Serena Wren.
Early bird tickets still available, saving you up to £10! And with three-day family weekend tickets from just £34 and single session family tickets starting at just £12 – not bad when you consider the soundtrack features all the biggest hits from the likes of Queen, Oasis, Foo Fighters, Amy Winehouse, Madness and The Killers – all killer, no filler, guaranteed!
What’s more, there’s a chance to hear the hits of tomorrow from Bournemouth-based local rock heroes SOS. With a loyal following, the four-piece band are already firm favourites of none other than Radio 2 legend Johnnie Walker, who said: “They are an excellent example of a British rock band that can stand comparison with American groups. These guys are the real deal, they do not mess about.”
The festival’s food offering is stronger than ever with top-rated producers such as the amazing, Southbourne-based pop-up Texas barbecue experts, Sobo Smoko. Started from their back garden, Khalid and Phoebe have taken their smoker and mini-kitchen on the road to bring their slow-smoked brisket, baby back ribs, boneless buffalo hot wings and mac n cheese to festival audiences throughout the south west.
They’re joined by brilliant local drink specialists like Poole’s very own Shanty Spirit seaweed vodka. An intricately crafted, fully organic, small batch vodka, it’s the taste of Poole in a shot featuring five hand-picked British seaweed with ripples of wasabi, galangal, yuzu, bergamot and sea buckthorn. One taste is all it takes – you won’t be able to kelp yourself!
The site opens from 5pm on Friday and 11am on Saturday and Sunday.
Pre-paid on-site parking is available and well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
