Dorset Council is to submit a compulsory purchase order to the Secretary of State for an empty house in Weymouth.
The home is at 19 Southview Road and is a two storey mid terrace house on the north side of Southview Road.
The house is situated about 15 metres west of the junction with Emmadale Road.
The front of the property is scaffolded and covered with metal sheeting to keep it secure and prevent unauthorised access.
The council will also submit compulsory purchase orders for a home in Bridport and a home in Blandford.
The Bridport home is at 12 Princess Road and the Blandford home is at 26 East Street.
If the order is confirmed, it will authorise Dorset Council to purchase compulsorily that land for the purpose of facilitating its improvement.
Any objection to the order must be made in writing to:
Secretary of State for Levelling Up
Housing and Communities
Planning Casework Unit
23 Stephenson Street
Birmingham
B2 4BH
Objections to the order for the Weymouth home need to be sent by May 2 2024 and should state:
The title of the order
The grounds of objection
The objector’s address and interests in the land
Please also send a copy of the objection by e-mail to pcu@levellingup.gov.uk, in addition to posting.
