A society that researches family history is welcoming a talk on being the son of someone involved in espionage during the Second World War.
The South Dorset Group of the Somerset and Dorset Family History Society is holding its April meeting on Friday, April 19 at St Aldhelm’s Church Centre on Spa Road in Weymouth.
Mike Randall will give the talk titled Son of a Spy in which he discusses the fascinating tale of his father’s exploits during the Second World War.
The talk will detail Mike’s father’s capture and escape from a prisoner of war camp in Greece, to becoming a ‘diplomat’ in cities such as Moscow and Baghdad in the years following.
Originally scheduled for last October, the talk had been rearranged due to illness.
The meeting will start at 2.30pm, preceded by tea or coffee.
