A successful fundraising dinner was held raising £20,000 for a life-saving charity.
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance held a gala dinner on Saturday, March 23 at the Crown Hotel in Blandford Forum in celebration of the charity’s 24th anniversary.
The event was sponsored by Leonardo Helicopters and LFS and 100 people attended.
Guests were welcomed by live music from Graham Maunder and Tamsyn Berry.
Miss Berry suffered life-changing injuries after an accident in 2020 and has made “remarkable progress” in her recovery.
A total amount of £20,000 was raised on charity night from a raffle and auction of gifts which had been donated.
The air ambulance receives no direct funding from the Government or the National Lottery and thus primarily relies on public donations and fundraising.
The charity was also recently recognised in the national Air Ambulance Awards of Excellence, being shortlisted as finalists in four categories; pilot, charity staff member, campaign of the year and critical care practitioner of the year categories.

Emma Jones, fundraising manager for the DSAA, said: “What a beautiful evening we had.
"My team worked so hard to make it special for those who attended, and it really was. I want to thank everyone who made the event happen for us, including our event sponsors Leonardo Helicopters and LFS.
“Also, thanks to the many businesses who show their ongoing support regularly and attended the night, of course the wonderful Tamsyn Berry who has inspired us all with her amazing determination and recovery.
“And to all those who donated raffle and auction prizes and everyone who played their part, be it small or large, in helping us to raise such a fantastic amount. We are now looking ahead to next year; our very special 25th anniversary and our plans are bigger and better. We can’t wait to share them with you all.”
