Five people have been rushed to hospital after a crash involving a car and a caravan on a main road in Dorset.
Dorset Police received a report at 11.19am of a crash involving a car and a caravan on the A35 near Winterbourne Steepleton and the junction with the Roman Road.
The road has now been re-opened and traffic is easing.
The road had been closed between Monkeys Jump roundabout and Bridport.
Officers were in attendance at the scene as well as three ambulances, an operations officer and a doctor.
A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: "We were called at 11.19am on Wednesday 3 April 2024 to a report of a collision involving a car and caravan on the A35 near to Winterbourne Steepleton and the junction with the Roman Road.
"Officers are in attendance. The road is currently closed between Monkeys Jump roundabout and Bridport."
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: "We were called at 11:14am on Wednesday April 3 to a road traffic accident near Dorchester.
"We sent three double-crewed land ambulances, an operations officer and a doctor to the scene and we conveyed five patients by land ambulances to Dorset County Hospital.”
