A yellow weather warning for heavy rain has been issued for Dorset.
The warning cuts through Dorset and includes, Beaminster and Dorchester as well as most areas north of those towns.
This warning is in place today from 8pm to 11.45pm.
The Met Office warns people that bus and train services will probably be affected with journey times taking longer and spray and flooding on roads.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Evening rain will be heavy at times, and perhaps accompanied by an isolated rumble of thunder. In a few places, 20 to 30 mm of rain may build up over a relatively short period of time.
"Check if your property could be at risk of flooding. If so, consider preparing a flood plan and an emergency flood kit. Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving, or bus and train timetables, and amending your travel plans if necessary."
