A popular Dorset horse racing event has been cancelled following torrential weather.
Storm Nelson has brought torrential rain and strong winds to the county which has left the grounds of the Cattistock races sodden and ‘unraceable.’
A spokesperson for the event said: “We have regrettably been forced to abandon the Cattistock point-to-point on Saturday, March 30 due to significant overnight rain leaving the course unraceable. We are making every effort to rearrange the meeting.”
The big event takes place in Chilfrome, Dorchester and as well as horse racing sees a variety of other forms of entertainment including stalls, bungee trampolines, food outlets and ice cream.
Gates were supposed to open at 11am and for more information about the event, visit: https://embed.futureticketing.ie/c/point-to-point-uk/.
