Join Neil McLocklin, author of A Nation in Ruins, for a fascinating exploration of the English Civil War, and how it impacted Dorset and the local area.
He'll be bringing history to life in a talk at Weymouth Library, Great George Street, Weymouth, on Saturday, April 6.
A Nation in Ruins features Corfe Castle in the Civil War and its owners Sir John and Lady Mary Bankes, staunch supporters of King Charles I.
Lady Bankes defended her home against overwhelming odds with the loyal backing of the villagers.
Booking is required. Tickets are available from the library and cost £2 for members and £3 for non-members.
Refreshments will be provided. Copies of the book will be available for purchase. Cash only.
