Several pets in Dorset are looking for their forever homes, including at the Ashley Heath Animal Centre.

Located on the border with Hampshire, the centre offers care for its animals in rural surroundings.

A few animals from the centre are listed below but more can be found on the centre's website.

Ariella

Dorset Echo: AriellaAriella (Image: RSPCA)

Gender - Female

Age - Seven years old

Breed - Greyhound

Colour - Black

If you want to adopt Ariella you can view their full profile here.

Ariella is a dog who is a fan of zooming around the garden, nice cosy beds and squeaky toys.

The RSPCA is looking to rehome Ariella with a family or person with older children who are aged 16 and above.

She will also need to have access to a secure private garden and be the only pet in the household.

As she is an ex-racing greyhound she will need a sensible handler who keeps her muzzled on walks as she has a tendency to chase "smaller, fluffier and high energy breeds".

Blue

Dorset Echo: BlueBlue (Image: RSPCA)

Gender - Male

Age - Two years old

Breed - Pocket Bully

Colour - Blue Merle

If you want to adopt Blue you can view their full profile here.

Blue is described as a "friendly and affectionate" dog who enjoys and responds well to training especially when food is involved.

He is looking for a home where he will initially have company through the day to help him adjust back into home life and help remind him of his housetraining.

Blue could live with a suitable neutered female after several introductions at the centre to ensure suitable compatibility.

When he came into the care of the RSPCA Blue was severely underweight so can be keen to take food from your hands.

The RSPCA adds: "New adopters must be prepared that when back in a home, he may take any food left out on the table or sides in the kitchen."

Harry

Dorset Echo: HarryHarry (Image: RSPCA)

Gender - Male

Age - Three years old

Breed - Domestic Shorthair crossbreed

Colour - Black

If you want to adopt Harry you can view their full profile here.

Harry came to Ashley Heath after he was found living in a house with over 80 other cats.

He was nervous and worried at first but has shown that he can enjoy human interaction.

Harry will need extra time indoors to get settled in and get used to his surroundings before being allowed to go outside exploring.

The RSPCA states that he needs to be rehomed as an only pet and that he might be okay sharing a house with children who are aged 10 and over.

Frank

Dorset Echo: FrankFrank (Image: RSPCA)

Gender - Male

Age - One year old

Breed - French Bulldog

Colour - Black and White

If you want to adopt Frank you can view their full profile here.

Frank came into the care of the RSPCA after he was found tied to a fence with his possessions after his owner could no longer keep him.

He has required some surgery to correct a slipping kneecap as well as to widen his nostrils, so he is now quite anxious about vet visits.

This will require extra management to help him cope in the future.

Frank is described as a "playful and affectionate" dog who enjoys cuddling up on the sofa.

Ideally, he would go to a new home as the only pet there and with children who are teenagers or above.

Flare

Dorset Echo: FlareFlare (Image: RSPCA)

Gender - Male

Age - One year old

Breed - Lurcher crossbreed

Colour - Brindle

If you want to adopt Flare you can view their full profile here.

Flare is described as an "energetic lad" who is very eager to meet dogs and people alike.

Sadly Flare had been neglected before coming into the care of the RSPCA which meant he had poor socialisation.

It would be best for him to go to a home without other animals as he can be a bit boisterous with other dogs and would likely chase after a cat.

Flare may be able to be left for short periods once settled in and would benefit from continued dog socialisation and training classes.

He will need access to a secure garden and plenty of mentally stimulating activities such as enrichment feeders and training activities.

Smokey

Dorset Echo: SmokeySmokey (Image: RSPCA)

Gender - Female

Age - Two years old

Breed - Lionhead Lop

Colour - Grey

If you want to adopt Smokey you can view their full profile here.

Smokey is a rabbit who is looking for a home with an existing neutered male rabbit to gradually introduce her to and become a bonded pair.

She came into the care of the RSPCA as her welfare needs were not being met, and was initially underweight but is now progressing well.

The RSPCA adds: "If you are interested in adopting a rabbit from RSPCA Ashley Heath you would need to have accommodation already in place. A pair of rabbits will require unrestricted access to a space measuring 6ft by 10ft, totalling 60 square feet."
