Trains have been cancelled between Weymouth and Dorchester due to a 'track failure'.
South Western Railway has been forced to cancel some trains running between Weymouth and Dorchester South train stations.
The rail company has said that disruption along the line would only last until 10am but this has now been updated to at least 1pm.
A spokesperson for South Western Railway said: "A track circuit failure is affecting the railway at Weymouth. Trains may be cancelled, delayed or revised because of this problem.
"We have now received an update and disruption to our services is now expected until 1pm. As the investigations are ongoing this may change but we will update you if it does.
"We have been informed that there is a track circuit failure at Weymouth. This means that fewer trains are able to run on some lines and may be required to use different platforms than usual.
"Currently it's only possible to run trains from platform 3, so some trains may need to start from/terminate at Dorchester South to allow other services to run.
"For further information or onward travel advice speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.
"We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey.
To assist with people's journeys train tickets will be accepted, at no extra cost on the following services:
- First Wessex, Dorset & South Somerset bus route 10 - Weymouth - Upwey - Dorchester South.
- First Wessex, Dorset & South Somerset bus route X51 - Weymouth - Dorchester South - Axminster.
