HAVING missed a year, Bradford Peverell fete returned with renewed vigour which gave everyone a sparkling afternoon in the sunshine.
It is rumoured that the fete raised much more money than ever before for the three village charities.
Accounts are not complete at the time of writing, but the profit is going to be over the £2000 mark. What an amazing effort!
Dorchester Ballet school gave a wonderful display of dance. The dancers did so well. I always think how difficult it must be to dance on grass instead of a floor!
The sports for children were a delight for everyone. My favourite is definitely the sack race.
There were awards for fancy dress and the WYSiWIG acoustic accordion band provided lovely music all afternoon.
The theme was 'A Garden Party' and a large garden party it certainly was.
Congratulations must go to Jan Wilson for being brave enough to revive the traditional village fete. Well done!
