DORCHESTER residents are being warned about possible overnight noise from railway works in the coming days.
Track maintenance will be underway between 11pm and 6am on Monday March 4, Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 on the Weymouth to Bristol line.
Network Rail say that while staff are expected to keep disturbance to a minimum the equipment being used means that some noise is quite likely.
“Our teams will be working to install some track components which allow the smooth operation of switched – where trains change from, one track to another. For this work we will be using small equipment and hand tools.
“The equipment we use means some noise is unavoidable and we sincerely apologise for this in advance,” said the company.
It has made a 24-hour helpline available on -3457 11 41 41 should there be a need to contact the company.
