A WOMAN in her 70s was seriously injured after being hit by a car on the Granby Industrial Estate in Weymouth.

Police said a white Vauxhall Corsa was in collision with two pedestrians on Albany Road at around 5.10pm on Monday, February 26.

One of the pedestrians - a woman aged in her 70s - sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The second pedestrian was not injured.

Several members of the public reportedly came to the aid of the pedestrians, and police want to talk to them.

Officers are also appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Police Constable Stephen Pratt, of Weymouth police, said: "I understand several members of the public came to the aid of the pedestrians, but they have not spoken to police.

"I would ask these people to please get in touch, as well as anyone else who witnessed what happened.

"Also, if you were driving in the area and captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage, please contact Dorset Police."
