Police have issued advice after several residents in the Purbeck area have fell victim to fraud.
They have advised people not to give bank details or personal information to callers.
A spokesperson for Purbeck Police said: "PCSOs Sam and Sarah have carried out several reassurance visits and welfare checks in relation to victims of fraud in recent weeks.
"Please be mindful that scams come in all forms, if we can offer some advice it may be helpful to stop and think about who you are talking to and whether have you made contact or have they
"BT call blocker is advised should you be receiving unwanted calls.
"Do not provide bank details or personal information and always put the phone down and find the correct number to call back to confirm legitimacy.
"If you become a victim of fraud, you can contact Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 or actionfraud.police.uk.
"If you have any concerns regarding any community issues in your area, please contact Dorset Police on 101 non-emergency or https://crowd.in/QWDS9S. If a crime is in progress or life is in danger, please call 999."
