A new monthly artisan market is coming to Dorchester in April this year.

After successful markets in Sherborne and Shaftesbury, Dorset Artisan Markets will be bringing another market to the town of Dorchester, where more than 200 artisan traders will gather on the fourth Sunday of each month from April to October.

Dorset Artisan Markets will be working with Dorchester Town Council, Dorset Council and Brewery Square to bring this new market to the town.

Traders will be spread across The Borough Gardens, West Walks, Bowling Alley Walk, South Walk, South Street and around Brewery Square.

Tara Bailey, Centre Manager at Brewery Square, said: “We are delighted to be part of The Dorchester Artisan Market.

“Brewery Square is the perfect backdrop for this unique market which promises to be a celebration of craftsmanship, creativity and community, offering a curated selection of handmade goods, delectable treats and one-of-a-kind treasures.”

The markets will be held from 10am until 3pm. The inaugural market on April 28 will be officially opened by the Mayor of Dorchester Town Council, Alistair Chisholm.

All the traders are local and produce their own products or have unique collections for sale. This includes food and drinks producers, crafts people, vintage clothing and vintage items for sale, plants and gardenalia.

Dorset Artisan markets are also open to any enquiries from local businesses who would like to book a stall.

There will also be food, drink, and musical entertainment at Borough Gardens throughout the day.
