A guest speaker will be giving a talk about planting, growing and tending to specific flowers in an upcoming talk for a gardening society.
The Broadwey, Upwey and District Horticultural Society has invited Bryan Madders, former Chairman of the New Forest Dahlia, and Chrysanthemum Society to give a talk called “Dahlias for Pleasure.”
He will be sharing his knowledge about dahlias, offering tips on how to grow them and also answering any questions put forward by attendees.
The talk is free to attend for members and costs £2 for non-members. It will be held at St Nicholas and St Laurence Primary School, Broadwey on Thursday, March 7 at 7.30pm.
The Broadwey, Upwey & District Horticultural Society was founded in 1878 by a group of local gardeners and nurserymen.
Based in Dorset, it is a gardening club with around 70 members.
Members of the society organise a year-round programme of talks and slide shows, as well as events such as seasonal shows and plant sales.
