YouTuber ranked six worst places to live in Dorset

The video, from the Youtuber whose real name is unknown, is titled 'Six disgusting towns in Dorset you need to avoid' and has nearly 200,000 views.

Ranking predominantly relies on factors such as crime rates, housing prices, the quality of activities on the high street, and the quantity of vacant buildings in the town.

Portland was ranked fifth on the list. 

The island was defined as having 'steep cliffs everywhere, not much to do and if you get bad weather one of the dreariest places in the UK.'

Fortuneswell was highlighted in the video, and criticised for its steep hills and run-down high street.

The video said: "For some reason people come on holiday here, and I have absolutely no idea why.

"It has to be the most miserable excuse for a high street I have ever seen.

"There is nothing to do, people being held on barges, no shops and two prisons."

According to the YouTuber, the villages and towns on the island don't see much improvement and all 'pretty much look the same.'

Weymouth came in second place on the list, with the YouTuber describing the town as a 'well known place but for all the wrong reasons lately.'

He continued to say that the town had been in the news a lot lately with the amount of people 'struggling', adding that the town was in a state of 'disrepair.'

Upon his visit, he said the town 'did not look terrible', and possibly could be an exaggeration by critics. 

The video explained that one of the reasons Weymouth made it so high on the list is because it's home to two of the most deprived places in Dorset.

According to the YouTuber, the main problem is that a lot of the jobs in Weymouth are low-paying, and that 16 per cent of the children live in relative poverty.

He said: "The prospects suck, and anyone who wants to be somebody moves out of the Weymouth area."

The video also said the town has a homeless problem, claiming 55 per cent of Dorset's homeless people are in Weymouth. After his visit he said he 'didn't really see any homeless people.'

He finished his thoughts on Weymouth by saying: "In the winter, Weymouth is a depressing hellhole. In the summer, Weymouth is a depressing hellhole."

Poole ranked sixth on the list. The video called Poole Dolphin Centre 'one of the ugliest shopping centres still in existence.'

Hamworthy came fourth on the list, whilst Bournemouth came third. 

Boscombe was ranked top of the list by the YouTuber. It was described as 'a place you just want to avoid.'

The video said: "This is a place full of drugs, full of crime and full of homeless."

Boscombe is technically a part of Bournemouth. However, the video said the town is so notorious that it deserved its rating.
