Gritters will be out in force across the county as temperatures fall.
Dorset Council will be deploying its fleet of gritting vehicles tomorrow morning as a wave of cold weather swoops in.
The Met Office is forecasting temperatures to get close to freezing with temperatures expected to hit 2 degrees in Dorchester and 4 degrees in Weymouth over night.
On Saturday, Dorchester can expect temperatures as high as 8 degrees with a low of 3 degrees going into Sunday morning.
Weymouth will also see highs of 8 degrees during the day but it will be slightly milder with temperatures of 5 degrees expected late into the evening.
The council does not be grit trunk roads which include the A31 and A35 west of Bere Regis, the National Highways is responsible for gritting these roads.
Gritters will be out treating the following roads in west Dorset from 4am on Saturday February 24:
- Blackmore
- Bridport north
- Coast Road
- Dorchester Town & east
- Dorchester north
- Dorchester south
- Marshwood Vale
- Piddle Valley & Cerne Giant
- Sherborne Town
- The Winterbornes
- Weymouth neighbourhoods
