A woman is due to appear in court after a boy was "seriously injured" in a hit-and-run in Weymouth.
A 12-year-old boy, Seth Yates was knocked down as he crossed Chickerell Road at around 2.34pm on July 4, 2023.
He had just left Budmouth Academy when the incident occurred.
He was treated in hospital for serious injuries to his jaw and underwent surgery.
It was alleged that the vehicle failed to stop at the scene.
Police carried out house-to-house and CCTV enquiries in a bid to identify the car involved.

Following enquiries by officers from the Roads Policing Team, a woman from Weymouth attended for a voluntary police interview.
Anita Lizinkiewicz, aged 39 and of Weymouth, has been issued with a postal requisition to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, February 27, for offences of failing to stop after a road accident and failing to report a road accident.
