Police have issued CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to after two men allegedly fled the scene of a crash.

Two men reportedly fled after a ‘stolen’ car crashed into a barrier on the Cumberland Drive, on the Granby Industrial Estate in Weymouth.

The car, which had been reported stolen from the forecourt of the Granby Diner on Albany Road, was involved in a single-vehicle crash on Cumberland Drive on Wednesday, January 17 at around 5.30pm.

It is reported that the driver and passenger of the vehicle left the scene on foot prior to emergency services attending. Police carried out a search of the area, but they were not located.

The victim’s bank card, which was inside the stolen vehicle, was subsequently reportedly used at around 7.30pm at the BP Garage in Dorchester Road.

The NPAS helicopter was also called to assist in searching the area.

Police Constable Lauren Edwards, of Weymouth police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I have obtained an image of a man I would like to speak to in connection with the road traffic collision and the fraudulent use of a bankcard.

“I would urge anyone with information regarding his identity to please come forward.”
