WEYMOUTH Beach will be closed for four days for levelling works to take place.
The annual works are to level out the sand on the beach.
The beach will be closed between the Pavilion Theatre and the Jubilee Clock between Monday, February 26 and Thursday, February 29.
The closure will remain in place overnight, and entry/exit points from the beach will be closed off by barriers, to allow for safe working and to protect the public while the heavy machinery is in operation on the beach.
A spokesperson for Weymouth Town Council said: "The work is carried out at this time of year for several reasons including getting the beach level before the beach huts go back on.
"Over the winter, bad weather and high tides move the sand around, so doing these works now will help to get the beach level for the busy summer season, replenishing the sand from the sand bars.
"Apologies for any inconvenience while the work is carried out."
The beach will be closed from 8am on Monday, February 26, until 7pm on Thursday, February 29.
