A wedding cake maker based has won a national award for her luxury cakes.
Cocoa & Whey Cakes topped the list of finalists at the English Wedding awards and went home with the Couples Choice Award.
Penelope Hurst , who owns the company situated in the village of Farnham just north of Blandford was left feeling 'over the moon' as she picked up the award.
Baking from her home, she offers a range of luxurious cakes both savoury and sweet.
Speaking after picking up the award with her daughter, she said: “We were over the moon to win the Couples Choice Award at the 7th English Wedding Awards 2024.
"We love what we do and every wedding cake we create for our couples is so important to us.
"It’s wonderful being able to contribute and be part of such a personal and special event in people’s lives and it’s a thrill to know that our couples love and appreciate what we create for them.
"Thank you to all our couples and to Oceanic for organizing such a fabulous event.”
Oceanic Events organised and held the national awards ceremony at the Crowne Plaza in Birmingham on February 6.
The awards aimed to celebrate the elite wedding specialists and businesses and reward those that work towards making the big day as perfect as possible, including the caterers that provide reception meals, decorators that take care of the wedding venues and the florists.
