WEYMOUTH-Waterloo services have been disrupted after a person was hit by a train.
One person has been taken taken to hospital and their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, according to police.
Emergency services responded to the incident which happened in Pokesdown, Bournemouth.
A spokesperson from British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to Pokesdown railway station at 11.40am today (13 February) to reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended and one person was taken to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening, and the incident is not being treated as suspicious."
Disruption is expected to last until 7pm including delays and cancellations, but investigations are ongoing and this is subject to change.
Bus route X54 from Weymouth to Poole will be offering passengers replacement travel at no extra cost.
As well as First Wessex, Dorset & South Somerset, and Route 10 from Weymouth to Dorchester South via Upwey.
Tickets will also be accepted on Great Western Railways services between London Paddington and Exeter St David's, and its services between Weymouth and Westbury.
Replacement road transport has also been requested to call at all stations between Weymouth and Bournemouth.
A spokesperson for South Western Railway said: "We have received reports that a person has been struck by a train at Pokesdown.
"Our response teams are working with the emergency services to assist with the incident.
"In order to allow emergency services access to the railway all power to the track will need to be switched off in the affected area."
