A fun-packed day for all the family is set to return after a hugely successful first year.
SummerFest will once again take place on the grounds of Redlands Leisure and Community Park in Weymouth on Saturday, June 8 from 10am-11pm.
The event will be jam-packed full of live music, entertainment, stalls, food and drink concessions - and rounded off with a huge firework display.
Last year, the Roud Table-organised SummerFest raised an incredible £13,000 for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and an additional £10,000 for other local charities.
Organiser of SummerFest, Weymouth and Portland Round Table member, Adam Luckhurst said: “We had such a great response from those who came to SummerFest in 2023, so I am delighted to announce that Weymouth’s biggest charity event returns on Saturday June 8.
“Last year we raised over £23,000 for charities including Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. For SummerFest 2024, we will be raising money for Weymouth Lifeboat and Dorset Acquired Brain Injury Rehab Service. It is shaping up to be an unforgettable event.”
Entertainment that has been revealed for this year’s event so far includes demonstrations from the Combat Lab, a ‘Top Bins’ kids football tournament and a firework finale, although the musicians are currently under wraps as organisers finalise everything.
To give an idea of what else could be expected from the charity event, last year there was much to see and do, ranging from all-day live music, a climbing wall, an inflatable theme park, Top Bins football tournament, hot air balloon rides, classic car displays, and demonstrations.
A local businessman, Jason Frampton has been appointed the new chairman of the Weymouth and Portland Round Table.
He said: “I am honoured to lead Weymouth and Portland Round Table for 2024 as the new Chairman and would like to thank Adam for all his hard work and dedication over the last two years.”
