IT seems municipal time is standing still in parts of West Dorset.

Bridport’s town hall clock has been on the blink with the town council awaiting replacement parts to get it moving again.

Now, Dorchester’s town council-owned clock on the Municipal Buildings in the town centre, appeared to have gone out in sympathy.

Stuck firmly at a few minutes past 5 the county town clock has resisted all attempt to move it forward with the town council now having called in specialists to deal with what appears to be an electrical problem.

“We are hoping to get it going again within a few days” said a Dorchester Town Council spokesperson.
