An artistic festival in Portland is inviting artists to submit their creative works representing the town’s history.
The b-side festival will be returning for its 12th year, running from September 5 to 8.
Artists are invited to submit new works in any media based on the festival’s prompt.
This year's theme is 'Who Do We Think We Are?' and the art can be representative of Portland’s heritage, culture, and geography across a range of contexts, concepts, and costs.
Proposals can be for any amount up to £6,000. There is also an additional £1k budget for artists travel and accommodation, for both the Research & Development day(s) and for the festival period.
The festival is run by a collaborative team of artists, producers, and curators with experience in visual arts, live art, performance, social practice, heritage, environment, and arts education.
The deadline for applications is March 10th, 2024. Submission details are available on the b-side website: https://b-side.org.uk/open-call-2024/
