A charity is looking for supporters to take on an extreme challenge to mark its 30th anniversary.
Weldmar Hospicecare is on the lookout for 30 intrepid supporters who fancy facing their fears to take part in an abseiling event.
The challenge, Abseil for Weldmar, will take place on Portland on Sunday, May 12 to mark 30 years of the charity.
Registration for the event is £25 per participant, with a fundraising target of £150.
Eden Fraser, part of Weldmar’s fundraising team, said: “I am so excited to be launching this brand-new challenge for Weldmar, which will be an amazing experience for everyone taking part and a great way to get involved in our 30th year celebrations.
“It’s a perfect activity to do with family, friends or colleagues, and we will support everyone with fundraising tips, resources, and motivation. Every penny raised on the day will allow us to continue providing specialist care for adults in Dorset with a life limiting illness, and support for their loved ones.”
The event is being supervised by local outdoor adventure company, Adventure4All.
Director Alex Sergison said: “We are absolutely delighted to be partnering with Weldmar to be able to offer this challenge.
“Weldmar is a charity close to our hearts, having supported family and friends in the past, as it no doubt is for so many people in Dorset. Abseiling is an amazing physical and mental challenge, and we will ensure that everyone will leave buzzing and feeling a massive sense of achievement.”
The deadline to register for Abseil for Weldmar is Sunday, April 21. The exact location on Portland will be determined by weather conditions on the day.
