Police officers have been out visiting students in Weymouth as part of a national initiative.
Dorset Police took part in the national Neighbourhood Policing Week which promotes activity that neighbourhood officers, police community support officers (PCSOs) and volunteers do to protect the public and keep people safe.
Officers spoke to Weymouth College students who are studying Uniformed Protective Services. Students were given the opportunity to speak to officers about the different roles available within the force.
A spokesperson for Weymouth and Portland Police said: "Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team went to Weymouth Collegeto speak with students studying Level 3 Uniformed Protective Services.
"We discussed all the different roles within the police service and the students had the opportunity to ask officers any questions they had."
The week of action was a collaboration between the College of Policing and the National Police Chiefs Council.
