Swanage Fire Station have become one of the first across Dorset and Wiltshire to receive a special form of training.
Yesterday, the crew at Swanage Fire Station received level two training in wildfires.
They were taught some new techniques in dealing with wildfires and managed to practice them in controlled live fire training conditions.
The training was carried out as ‘wildfires are starting to become more common.’
A spokesperson for Swanage Fire Station said: “This evening the station became one of the first in Dorset and Wiltshire to receive level two training in wildfires.
“We were taught some new techniques in dealing with wildfires and managed to practice them in controlled live fire training conditions.
“Hopefully these new skills will help us when dealing with wildfires that are starting to become more common.”
