A talk looking back at the history of Upwey will be held at the beginning of February.
The Broadwey, Upwey and District Horticultural Society welcome their new year with a talk by local historian, Sue Virgin.
Her talk called "Upwey, a walk down memory lane" will be held at St Nicholas and St Laurence Primary School in Broadwey on Thursday, February 1 at 7.30pm.
The talk is open to everyone with a fee of £2 charged to non members of the society. The talk will be accompanied with the refreshments, a raffle, a sales table and the society's 'Flower of the Month' competition
The Broadwey, Upwey & District Horticultural Society was founded in 1878 by a group of local gardeners and nurserymen.
Based in Dorset, it is a gardening club with around 70 members.
Members of the society not only enjoy a year round programme of talks and slide shows, but events such as seasonal shows and plant sales.
Gardening tips and advice, as well as garden centre discounts are some of the other perks for becoming a member.
